1. Overview

CorteX Gold Pawn is a specialized WordPress management system tailored for gold loans and pawning operations. It modernizes traditional paper-based tracking with a secure digital dashboard, automated interest calculations, and professional receipt generation.

2. Requirements

Ensure your hosting environment meets these standards for optimal performance and security:

WordPress & Server

  • WordPress 6.0+
  • PHP 8.0+ (Recommended)
  • MySQL / MariaDB Database
  • HTTPS (SSL Certificate) - Required

Shop Hardware

  • Desktop PC or Laptop
  • Thermal Receipt Printer (80mm) or Standard A4 Printer

3. Install & Update

Installation Guide

  1. Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  3. Select the cortex-gold-pawn.zip file.
  4. Click Install Now and then Activate.
  5. Locate the new CorteX Pawn menu in the sidebar.

Updating

  1. Deactivate and delete the existing plugin (Data is safe in the DB).
  2. Upload and activate the new version zip file.
  3. Verify functionality by checking a test ticket.

4. Initial Setup Checklist

Create Bill Codes

Go to CorteX Pawn → Bill Codes. Define your interest schemes (e.g., Code A: 3% monthly rate, 7-day waiver).

Receipt Configuration

In Settings, add your shop name, address, contact numbers, and legal disclaimers for the receipt footer.

Staff Access

Create user accounts in WordPress. Use specific roles to limit access (e.g., Cashiers cannot edit settings).

5. Daily Pawn Workflow

5.1 New Pawn (Issuing)

The core process of issuing a loan:

  1. Go to New Pawn. Select or register a customer.
  2. Choose the Bill Code and enter the Principal Amount.
  3. Add items (Gold Type, Karat, Weight).
  4. Verify the calculated Net Cash amount.
  5. Click Save Loan to generate the Ticket Number and Print Receipt.

5.2 Redeem (Closing)

  1. Go to Redeem and search by Ticket Number.
  2. Review the auto-calculated Interest, Fees, and Total Due.
  3. Apply any manual discounts if authorized.
  4. Click Collect & Close to finalize and print the redemption slip.

6. QR Customer Balance

Enhance transparency by allowing customers to check their loan status remotely. The printed QR code links to a secure, read-only view of their ticket details.

7. Reports & Insights

8. Data & Backups

Your data resides in the WordPress database. Regular backups are critical.

  • Configure automated daily database backups via your hosting panel.
